How the Mandela Fellowship Program is Impacting Africa

The program is expected to train no fewer than 100 youths selected after a very competitive process. They will work in the private, public, and non-governmental sectors for 6 weeks with intensive training. There will be ideas sharing between the fellows and the host. This is expected to further achieve the international engagement objectives of the United States.

When fellows have been trained, citizens of the United States can come to Africa to work with fellows based on the network that was established. Its goals are not short-term but long-term as well. Hence it is a program that has built a chain of connections with like minds over many years.
